Happiness is one of the most wonderful Filipino cultural values we

have inherited from our ancestors. Even though the world is a cruel
place to live, we Filipinos tend to smile and laugh at our problems and
worst-case situations in our lives.
Just like how super typhoon Yolanda devastated a fraction of our
country, most of the Filipino victims recovered shortly hereafter and
decided to go on with life. Instead of being miserable and mournful for
a very long time, as Filipinos are known to have close-family ties, they
chose to live a happily in spite of the loss of their loved ones and
riches. Another major issue aroused as the pork barrel scam was
uncovered that should have caused big disappointments and regrets in
trusting the government but then again, most Filipinos tried to lighten
up the issue by turning it to some joke.
Being happy and positive towards all things will surely lead us to a
better life. Whatever circumstances we may have in life, as for me,
happiness is the greatest gift I can give to others and myself. I am a
Filipino if I am indulged in happiness. As what Epictatus quoted, There
is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about
things which are beyond the power of our will .
