Assessment Outline Term 3 2014









INDEPENDENT READING 20% Week 8
Students will read and respond to a novel they have read this term and
compare this with another text (film, poetry or song lyrics). The
comparative work will focus on themes, message and authors craft.

CRITICAL READING 15% Week 2
Analysing an article, students will respond to a variety of questions,
developing their critical reading skills.

EXTENDED RESPONSE 40% Week 6
Students will respond to A Midsummer Nights Dream text through an
essay writing task. The essay will be conducted in a test format for the
initial draft.

TEXT RESPONSE 20% Week 5
After reading the beginning sections of A Midsummer Nights Dream,
students will respond to a range of questions.

CLASS INVOLVEMENT & BOOKWORK
5% Fortnightly
Students will be assessed throughout the term in regards to their
involvement in class discussions and group work. Their class work,
including grammar tasks, will be assessed on a fortnightly basis, keeping
them accountable for their organisation skills.

Due Dates will be set early on in the term.
