Freshman Orientation Schedule

Auditorium/Cafeteria/Gymnasium/Classrooms
8:30am-12:00pm

*****All staff please where orange PARK STAFF shirts and your name
badge so you are easily identified by students*****

8:20-8:30 Students start arriving by bus

Staff in foyer area to greet them/point them to the nametags and into the
auditorium (where they should sit with assigned teacher).

8:30-8:40 All students into the auditorium. Staff to remain with their assigned groups.
Student mentors sit with the students.

8:40-9:10 Powerpoint/Speakers:

***Introduction of all ninth grade block teachers/mentors so students have a name
a face together for I-time group. Once all are introduced, dismiss by I-time
groupings.

9:10-9:45 Students move from auditorium to assigned I-time group classroom with I-time
teacher and mentors. Review & hand out schedules, lockers, map of building, I-
time activity. (Teacher along with student mentors)

9:50-10:00 Period 1 ---Students will follow their daily schedule ---
10:05-10:15 Period 2
10:20-10:30 Period 3
10:35-10:45 Period 4
10:50-11:00 Period 5 (Explain lunch system and when they are expected in and out of class for their assigned lunch)
11:05-11:15 Period 6
11:20-11:30 Period 7
11:30-Noon Arts/Athletics/Activities Fair Escort students to Fieldhouse and mingle with
them while encouraging them to get involved.

Noon Teachers/mentors escort students to the auditorium foyer. Release students to 33

street entrance where they will be served ice cream sandwiches by the staff and
busses will arrive to take students home.
