The Greatest Pianist

So I just sat down

In front of my piano
Played from morning to night
The symphony of my sorrow
And I had to convince each note
To agree to sing under my touch
And hope was oh so remote
Surrender was not far by much
But when the down came
When there was no sun and life was lame
From above came a holy hand
That played next to me a different song
Leading me out of despairs quick sands
Proving to me that in giving up I was wrong
And as God sat by me and played
The piano came back to life
And I just sat there listening with praise
For he had melted the ice
