What we actually ended up doing was

each dir/dp pair taking one emotional
within the frame beat from their films and quickly
attempting to express a dramatic or

they've been learning (like the list at
proxemics left). Through doing this, they got some
visual tension and breath experience having The Discussion.
And through it, also, we took a few
point of view tangents talking about the dp/director
relationship(s) and some scenarios for
light and shadow how it might play out - in the planning
colour phase as well as on set. At the end, I
ran through the Y2 DP's plan for the
light DP's - but with the directors there also.
They found it informative and helpful.
