It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Alan Gonzalez. Alan is currently a student in my Child Development Class at Merced High School. I have known him since January 2014. As a student, Alan demonstrates many qualities that will enable him to be successful. He maintains a good attendance record; he is attentive and follows directions well. He completes assignments in a timely manner. Alan works well on both individual and group projects, working effectively and cooperatively with fellow students.
Alan has been a student athlete for three of the four years; managing to balance attendance, academics and practice to two different sports. He was on the soccer team his freshman and junior years and track for three years. These sports not only take team effort, but a tremendous amount of individual effort. Alan earned multiple awards for his efforts: in soccer he earned the Bear Award and the San Joaquin Certificate. He also earned a track Certificate.
Alan was a link crew member during his junior year. This is a club designed to help acclimate incoming freshman to the high school experience by pairing them with upperclassmen. He has also been a member of HYLC (Hispanic Youth Leadership Council). The key Club, a student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, builds character and develops leadership. He has also been in the AVID club for the past three years. Through these experiences Alan has built confidence and leadership skills that will benefit him as he continues to work on his education.
Alan has the potential and the motivation to go far as he pursues his education and future career. He is positive and outgoing. He wants to pursue a career as a registered nurse. He has been in the ROP Medical Occupations class this year. Through this class he has learned how to take patient vitals, he is CPR and first aid certified, and understands blood borne pathogen procedures. Alan has been volunteering at Mercy Hospital for the last few months. He has been assisting the CNAs with daily tasks with patients. When he speaks of his experience at the hospital, regardless of the task, he has enthusiasm and compassion. These characteristics will carry him far as he pursues a career in the medical field. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
