From your writing task, make a Power Point/Google Drive presentation of the beliefs and
values of the person you interviewed and present it to us. Adding photos may help you in your
presentation.


Writing Task
Interview somebody who has lived in at least 2 countries. Ask them about their beliefs and
values. Start the interview by giving the meaning of beliefs and values. You may use the
definition and examples from our Dictation. Ask them the following questions:
1. Can you give at least 2 examples of something you believe in?
2. Please give 2 values that are important to you.
3. How do you think your values influence your behaviour? Please give some examples.
4. Did you grow up as part of a religion, and if you did, how do you think that influenced
your values?
5. Have you developed different values from living in different places?
Your interview summary may look like this. Put your interviewees answers to 3, 4 & 5 under
the box.

Beliefs, Values, Attitudes

A belief is an internal feeling that something is true, even though that belief may be unproven
or irrational. For example: I believe that opening an umbrella indoors will bring bad luck, what
goes around comes around.

A value is the measure of the worth or importance the person attaches to something; our
values are often reflected in the way we live our lives. For example: I value freedom of
speech, I value my family.

An attitude is the way a person expresses or applies their beliefs and values, and is expressed
through words and behavior. For example: I get upset when I hear about cruelty to animals, I
love school! (111 words)
