and Global Perspectives or Historical Perspectives. Other courses to take besides the
general education courses would be English 101 the first semester and English 102 the
second semester of your first year. Math courses that should be taken in your first year
should be Math 141 and Math 143. Taking these courses your first year will allow you to
start taking lower division core courses your second year of college.

may not know when to do homework or you may find it hard to figure out when to eat. It
is important for you to find a routine within the first two weeks of starting classes.
Having a routine will allow you to have a set schedule of when your classes are, when to
eat, when to do homework, and when you have free time. This will allow you to be
efficient and it will reduce stress.

Subject: Successes of Majoring in Public Policy and Administration

As a Public Policy and Administration Major, there have been many benefits to pursuing
this major. Many students have been successful due to the programs requirements. The
Public Policy and Administration program is a lengthy major allowing students to avoid
studying a minor.

The successes in the Public Policy and Administration major include the variety of fields
of work and the required internship. The fields of work students can pursue are jobs in
General Management,
Public Policy,
Planning and Budgeting,
Police and Criminal Justice Administration,
Personnel,
Legal Affairs, and
Urban Affairs.
Allowing students to have a broad spectrum in jobs will give this major a higher success
rate. The variety gives students options in the workforce rather than just one or two job
options. In order for students to graduate with this major, they must complete an
internship. Completing an internship is very beneficial for students. It gives the students
experience in their chosen work field. Having an internship completed will give students
many opportunities in finding work over those who have not completed an internship.
Students interning at a specific company can open up job opportunities after graduation
with that company.

Not many students complain about this major. The only improvement some students have
suggested for the Public Policy and Administration major is allowing students to choose
two different fields of work rather than just one. Allowing students to pick two, will give
students versatility and more credibility to get hired.

Majors

Subject: Benefits of Hiring Someone with a Public Policy and Administration
Major

To benefit this organization, it may be best to hire someone who graduated with a Public
Policy and Administration major. These graduates are hard workers and have the proper
experience to fit this job opportunity.

It would be beneficial to hire a graduate with the Public Policy and Administration major
because these graduates have learned the advantages to working hard. Each graduate
would not been able to complete this degree without hard work. This degree required an
extensive amount of work. Each member had to complete a four fifteen credit blocks.
These credit blocks allowed the students to be challenged in a variety of different
courses.

These graduates tend to be more versatile because of the six different fields of work they
could pursue. These degree holders could potentially choose work in general
management, public policy, planning and budget administration, police and criminal
justice administration, personnel, legal affairs, and urban affairs.

In order to graduate, these pursuers had to complete an internship in their field of study.
This is an important aspect to think about. Many graduates come out of college without
having an internship, but these degree holders already have experience. Their internship
has given them experience that they will bring to your organization. They have already
been trained and are now ready to step into the workforce.
