Seattle Named Kick-off City for The Mask You Live In Film Tour

SEATTLE April 23, 2013-- The advocacy organization, The Representation Project, has picked
Seattle as its first stop on a 10 city American film tour. On May 23rd, the boys of 12 local high
schools will be invited to view the highly-anticipated documentary, The Mask You Live In at the
downtown Seattle Regal Cinemas free of charge.

In addition to the screening, a question and answer session featuring CEO and founder,
Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and celebrity advocate, John Cho, will take place. The Representation
Project created the documentary and film tour to start a conversation about the issues
surrounding the representation of males in the media and how it impacts our society.

We are thrilled to be welcomed by Seattle. There is no better place to begin sharing our
documentary and our message said Newsom. She continued, we hope that our event brings
awareness to the problems that are created by media representation.

This is the second documentary created by Newsom and The Representation Project. In 2011,
Newsom debuted Miss Representation, the very successful documentary focused on the
representation of women in the media.

Other cities on the tour include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, New Orleans, Orlando,
Boston, New York City, Minneapolis, and Chicago. Wide-release of the film will take place in
October.







The Representation Project is a movement that uses film and media content to expose injustices created
by gender stereotypes and to shift peoples consciousness towards change. Interactive campaigns,
