My new medical technology: Organ Transplant

Should Communicate: How the technology works The your kidneys will be left, and the new one will be put somewhere else. A vein and an artery also switch what they are connected to. What the patient can expect Have already had blood and tissue tests for matches. Why the technology is being used To replace the patients damaged kidney. How it has enhanced scientists understanding of cells and cellular processes The effects of the technology on the human body The pros and the cons of the technology Pros: More energy, less restricted diet, less complications Cons: Might be rejected, but if it fails you can get a new one. Moral/ethical issues surrounding the use of the technology Some issues with developing countries (forced donations) but seller here fully aware and in the hospital

First kidney transplant was in 1950, since then there have been hundreds of thousands kidney transplants In the USA in 2008, there was more than 16 thousand kidney transplants.

Expectations The presentation must include visual aids (i.e. powerpoint, photos, graphs, video ...) The content (i.e. the language and terminology used) must be suitable for your audience (nonmedical) The presentation should take approximately 5-10 minutes Evaluation will be based on your content, appropriateness of content, visual aids, public speaking skills
