Yuli Sudarso Jurusan Administrasi Niaga Politeknik Negeri Semarang ABSTRACT: To face globalization, improving the quality of outcomes of graduates in the State Polytechnic of Semarang, particularly the Business Administration Department, needs to be taken seriously. Data showed that 25% - 30% or about 1030 students get awards and educational assistance (Part of Academic and Student Affairs Polines 2011). Various efforts have been made and will continue to be made. One way is concerned with the quality of the overall (total). But the results are still unsatisfactory for the Business Administration Department. This study investigates how to improve student performance, especially at the Business Administration Department in accordance with expectations. Further research variables and indicators are also based on previous studies. A model has been developed and two hypotheses have been formulated to address this research problem. The sampling technique was purposive and quota sampling method. Respondents from this study amounted to 100 respondents, where respondents were students of the Department of Commerce Administration Semarang State Polytechnic. Data analysis tool used is a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) at 16.0 AMOS program. The results of this study indicate data analysis models and results can be well received. And further results of this study proves the high appreciation and support the higher education student achievement motivation is received significant AN (H1). And the higher achievement motivation, the more the higher the student's performance is acceptable AN significant (H2). Managerial implications show appreciation and education assistance both indirectly in realizing AN student performance.
