Recommendation
for
Rebecca Walz

Intuitive, motivated, enthusiastic, reflective- Rebecca Walz completed her
student teaching in my English class at Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA
from September 2011 to April 2012. During her time here, Rebecca taught ninth and
twelfth grade students with a variety of skill levels including students above grade
level, on grade level and below grade level. Yet Rebecca expertly designed lessons
to reach this diverse, urban population. Rebecca consistently altered lessons to
meet the needs of her students and used data gathered from her formative and
summative assessments to inform her teaching. Rebecca worked tirelessly to be an
outstanding teacher; she reflected daily on the lessons she taught and thought about
ways to improve her teaching in order to provide the best education possible.

Rebeccawork ethic and dedication to her students impressed all who came
in contact with her. She held both herself and her students to the highest standards
of excellence. It was impressive to see Rebecca working to challenge her students
without frustrating them all while maintaining high levels of engagement in the
classroom. Rigor and relevance were daily goals for Rebecca, and she worked to
incorporate engaging, student-centered activities into her lessons while consistently
utilizing technology to enhance instruction. Rebecca
innovative, and she executed them while managing her classroom with a positive,
kind yet firm demeanor.
During her time at Northeast, Rebeccadents greatly benefited from her
sound judgment and outstanding teaching. In addition to her excellent teaching,
Rebecca also brought with her experience from a previous career as a Community
Organizer that added a maturity and thoughtfulness to her classroom instruction.

I am happy to give Rebecca my highest recommendation to any school for
which she may apply. She will surely be an asset to any school community. Some
people are naturals at this profession; Rebecca is one of them.

Sincerely,
Christy Kenney-Quinn
