I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my gratitude about having the opportunity to work with your child this year. I will be the home-room teacher for 7B, your childs class. I hold a Bachelor of Information Sciences in Computer and Communications along with a Bachelor of Education, and I am a member of the OCT in good standing. I have teaching experience which involves working with children of various different age groups, cultures, and social backgrounds. Consequently, I have learned how to adjust to each student's different learning abilities. By using my positive attitude in the classroom, I will show my students how mathematics, science, arts, health, physical education and Islamic studies are all essential parts of their everyday lives. I also want to emphasize the importance of mathematics, science, and Islamic education in our lives. The study of mathematics and science is especially important for us to since we live in an age and time where our technologically enhanced fast paced lives require us to think critically about complex issues, solve problems of various kinds and communicate our thinking effectively. The study of mathematics and science will equip your children with the necessary intellectual skills necessary to survive and thrive in our competitive world. The study of Islamic education will lay the foundation for your kids to flourish not only as good Muslims but also as great citizens and positive contributors of this world. I am also privileged to work with a number of other teachers who belong to the outstanding IFS staff. Sister Salima Sayeed, who is the homeroom teacher for 7A, will be teaching History, Geography, Language Arts, additional strands of Islamic studies and Health and Physical Education for girls of both the sections (7A and 7 B). I will be teaching Health and Physical Education for boys of both the sections (7A and 7 B). Sr. Frikia will be teaching Arabic studies and Sheikh Asad will teach Quranic Studies. French will be taught by brother Nizam. Remedial classes will also take place and further information will be provided next week inshaAllah. Parents have an important role to play in their childrens education. Therefore, I would strongly request that you familiarize yourself with the course curriculum and attend the parent-teacher interviews. Furthermore, school uniform will be enforced rigorously right form the very first week of the school. Moreover, we request that students be dropped off on to the school premises before 8:20 a.m., every morning. We hope that you will assist us in these concerns of ours by partnering with us in our efforts to ensure that your child gets a smooth start so as to ensure that we can deliver on our promise of guaranteeing a quality educational experience.
