Brookwood Forest Elementary School, Grade K January 31-March 21, 2014 Taught a kindergarten class containing 17 students, ages 5 and 6; including 2 students with Intellectual Disabilities. Conducted Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Workshop, Math Workshop including Number Talks and Investigations, Words Their Way, Shared Reading, Interactive Read-Aloud with Accountable Talk, and Unit Studies. Taught a one-week, self-designed unit on the Life Cycle of Frogs, as part of 2 weeks of full day instruction 8:00 am-3:00 pm.

Clinical Experience
Paine Intermediate School, Grade 4 October 15-December 3, 2013 Observed and designed/implemented lessons for two Math/Science classes of 25 students each, ages 9 and 10, including one student with Intellectual Disability. Taught small groups in Math intervention, using games and strategies for visual representation of mathematic thinking. Sought out expertise of teachers of other content areas, and gained permission to observe and teach lessons in those classrooms as well as cooperating teachers classroom. September 3-October 8, 2013 Observed and designed/implemented lessons for a class of 18 students, ages 6 and 7; including 2 students with Visual Disabilities. Taught lessons utilizing curriculum by Harcourt Reading, Open Court Phonics, and Investigations. Provided one-on-one reading intervention for 6 students needing additional support.

July 1- July 19, 2013 Designed and taught lessons for remediation and intervention in Reading and Math for students receiving Special Education services, as part of a two-week summer camp for Mountain Brook Schools. June 19-21, 2013 Assisted educators as part of Summer Learning Program 6-week Day Camp, a service for preventing summer learning loss, provided at no cost to inner city at-risk youth. Subjects included Reading, Writing, Math, Music, and other enrichment activities such as gardening and nutrition.

Preschool Teacher, First Baptist Church of Trussville WEE Center August 2012-May 2013 Taught Social Studies as a specials class, in which all students in the Preschool program, ages 2 -5, attended in a weekly rotation. Social studies classes included approximately 20-25 students at a time, occasionally up to 30 students. December 2011-May 2012 Operated a multi-line phone system while monitoring and directing visitors to destinations and serving as the official school cashier, collecting and managing any and all moneys, processing receipts through NexGen computer software program, and organizing daily money collections for school Bookkeeper. Scheduled Parent-Teacher conferences and assisted administrators with necessary paperwork and protocol for disciplinary procedures.
