PD Topic/Title: Touthmath Teacher Training Workshop

Please respond to the following prompts: 1. Summarize the key points you learned from this Professional Development experience. At the Touchmath Training Workshop, I was amazed how the instructor was able to point to corners of a written number. She counted as she touched the number as a way to solve math problems. The instructor added and subtracted number problems to show just how the touchmath process worked.

2. Discuss how these key points connect to your content area. Teachers must be able to give direct, clear instructions as addressing any content specialization. Even though this workshop was focused on math problems, I can still use this procedure to show my students different ways to add and subtract historical dates or take away the problems that will be address in the economic section of our National Standard Themes. As a history teacher, I will work with students who may struggle at one problem-solving procedure. By keeping an open mind to learn different methods of solving problems will only increase your intelligence.

3. Share how you might use this new information in your future classroom. I may have extra classroom activities design to keep my students busy after they have finished their work assignments. The times I have to address the economic curriculum in my classroom, I can show my future students this different skill in solving math problems.

Note: Make sure you upload this document to your professional portfolio along with your scanned PD letter and/or PD certificate.
