Crocodile SNAP Game Assessment

Grade Level: Kindergarten, 1st

Subject: Reading

Skills Tested: Sight Word Reading

Materials: Sight word cards Crocodile poem Crocodile container: (container with green lid, made to look like a crocodile)

Procedures: 1. 2. 3. 4. Prepare sight word cards and crocodile poem Make the crocodile container Place the cards inside the container Children will sit in a circle and take turns passing around the container, pulling out a sight word to read. The students will also have to use the word in a sentence. When the answer is correct, the word goes in the center of the circle (called the lake). If a child pulls out a SNAP card, children put their arms out like a crocodile and say SNAP! SNAP! and all of the cards go back into the crocodile and play continues. 5. Each student will use their SNAP checklist to record the sight words they read correctly. Checklist/Rubric:
