To Whom It May Concern, It is my pleasure to provide a reference for Bridget Lyons.

I first met Bridget in 2011, as a student in my Introduction to Early Childhood Education class. I was immediately impressed with her quick mastery of course content but even more so with her obvious love and dedication to young learners. Bridget excels in the classroom as evidenced by her outstanding academic record. She also demonstrates exceptional skill in applying pedagogy and learning theory to real-life teaching endeavors. Her Cooperating Teachers from the field sing her praises and continually remark that she exhibits skill, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to children and families. Bridget completed her clinical experiences in a rural setting at Waterloo Elementary School and in a small urban community at the Alliance Early Learning School. Both teaching experiences included diverse learners of varying abilities and needs. These experiences provided her with the opportunity to practice explicit instruction as well as a mix of co-teaching and consultation designed to support at-risk learners and students with disabilities in inclusive settings. In addition to her studies, Bridget is an active member of several campus organizations. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Womens Basketball Team. Bridget also volunteers as a scorekeeper for the volleyball team and dedicates time to tutoring students from the community. Bridget has a number of strengths to offer an employer. She is a naturally caring person with a solid work ethic. She effectively builds relationships and rapport with children and families. She considers the students backgrounds, varied abilities, and previous learning experiences when designing lessons and selecting instructional strategies. She has experienced the rigor and rigidity of a scripted, evidenced-based curriculum, as well as the creativity needed to devise engaging activities to provide repeated practice opportunities appropriate to grade level standards and individual learners skills. Bridget is a quiet leader who has earned the respect of her class colleagues, faculty, and staff. She is an organized, attentive individual who takes pride in her work and demonstrates a true desire to do a quality job. She consistently displays a willingness and interest in learning and a commitment to young learners and the teaching profession. She appreciates collegial mentorship and takes to heart suggestions that will improve her teaching competencies. Bridget is a reflective teacher and looks for ideas to enhance her teaching and build positive connections with students and families. Bridget would be a valuable asset to any educational team. There is no doubt that she will be an excellent teacher and professional colleague.
