March 15th, 2014 To Whom It May Concern: My name is Debbie Worthington, and I am writing this letter on behalf of Mallorie

Green who I had the privilege of having her in my classroom as she did her student teaching from September 2013 to March 2014. Mallorie came into my room with a little bit of apprehension and not sure what kind of role she was suppose to be doing but within a few months of her being there she became the kind of teacher that I would hope would be teaching my own children. Mallorie was concerned about the welfare of every student in our class and brought wisdom to the classroom. She would come to school with so many great ideas. She loved teaching interconnections such as Science, and Social Studies. In her lessons she would touch upon every students learning style. She had power points for the visual, she brought worksheets, and would always bring in things to help students make connection to help with background knowledge. If she did a study on plants she would bring in live plants for students to activate prior knowledge. She had students work in groups and partners. She put a lot of thought into every lesson that she taught. She became more and more confident as the year went on. She at first was afraid to as we say use the teachers voice, she became quite good at that, the students responded to her and respected her in every way. When she was confused or did not know what to do she was not afraid to ask me or find the answers that she needed. She was willing to take advice and use it, which made her become a better teacher for it. Mallorie never missed a day of her student teaching and was dependable and always came prepared with lessons and ideas for the students. She became the teacher for the last few months and the students began to know her as the teacher of their class, even to the point where they were calling me Mrs. Green. She also handled some pretty hard things that happened in our rooms, with disciplining certain students who had misbehaved. She took care of the situation and made some very hard decisions but the decisions were for the best of the student. I respected her for that. I would recommend Mallorie for a teaching position; she brings wisdom, dependability, and a love for her students. She will do a wonderful job and I would without hesitation have her teach my own children. If I may be of any further assistance in offering information regarding my association with Mallorie and her qualifications, please feel free to contact me at any time. I may be reached at dworthington@graniteschools.org or by phone at 801-694-9335. Sincerely yours, Debbie Worthington
