Teaching, Cheatham Elementary School, 1st Grade, Phoenix, AZ Fall 2013 Taught McGraw Hill My Math with Common Core State Standards correlation. Created and implemented a creative integrated year long unit in the classroom around the study of animals. Worked in small guided reading groups using Reading A-Zs leveling system for differentiated instruction. Developed students literacy skills using Lucy Calkins, Daily Oral Language, Empower Brain Frames, Literacy Cafe, and Daily 5. Created a cooperative learning environment utilizing the Kagan Cooperative Learning technique. Worked on a team of four rst grade teachers assuring that we guide our students through a curriculum map provided by the Laveen Elementary School District. Coached Dance Team with the 6-8 resource teacher to middle school girls as an after school activity. Presented on curriculum and subject integration at Cheatham Elementary School Staff Professional Development. Wrote and replied to one letter per week. Participated in an end of the year Meet Your Pen Pal event at Estabrook Elementary School in Ypsilanti, MI.
