Grand Haven Croquet Club Board of Directors Meeting February 10, 2014 Attending: Cass Gaisor, Tony Dos

Santos, Bill Todd, Rich Burns, Annemarie Schutz, Lindsey Brown Absent: Elaine Worsfold, George Betz President Cass Gaisor called the board meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. She asked for approval of the January 20, 2014 minutes. Motion was made, seconded and approved to accept the minutes as presented.

Cass Gaisor - President Black ball problems have been resolved. Don Oakley, the supplier, said that a bad batch of black balls were sent out. He will be replacing 2 of them. The CDD has agreed to buy a complete set of balls with carrier, and the club will buy another set.

By-Laws Committee Proposed amended by-law changes have been sent to the membership for review. February 8 was the deadline for any input from members. None was received. President, Cass Gaisor asked board members for a discussion and a vote on the amended by-laws. There being no discussion, she asked for an approval. A motion was made by Rich Burns and seconded by Tony Dos Santos. All board members voted in favor of the amended by-laws. By-laws will be presented at the annual meeting.

Vice President - Tony Dos Santos Tony will test all croquet balls. The croquet courts appear to be in good condition. The Creekside court has been rotated.

Nominating Committee The Nominating Committee has selected the nominees for the elected board positions: President, Cass Gaisor, Vice President, Tony Dos Santos, Secretary, Naomi Mass, and Treasurer, Bill Todd. The slate of candidates will be sent to the membership on February 14, 2014, which is 60 days prior to the Annual Election on April 15, 2014.

Lindsey Brown - Membership Director 6 new members. Play Pals are ready to go. Beginner Classes - tentatively scheduled for May 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 at 1:00 p.m.

George Betz - Social Director - no report Rich Burns - Tournament Director No definite plan for another social until after the Club Championship. Rich showed the board the engraved GHCC memorial plaque. Discussed renewal of insurance.

Club Championship 8 people signed up. Another e-mail will be sent out to members.

Invitational Currently 16 people are participating. We have places for 24. Discussed preliminary Invitational budget, fees, and meal options.

Old Business National Croquet Day - April 26. Gabriella Tuscano agreed to be the club auditor.

New Business Discussed Annual Club Banquet. Scheduling social events on the court to be discussed.

Logo Wear - Linda Dos Santos Last order was delivered. Linda is now taking orders for the next logo wear shipment.

Janet Carlsen - Sunshine Committee A get well card was sent to Anita Carlin.
