Coach and General Manager for ten years. I have worked with Brant Parriott on two separate occasions (2004 2008 and 2010 2012) while we were both employed by the Des Moines Buccaneers Hockey Club in Urbandale, Iowa. As a General Manager, I was able to watch Brant grow from an intern into taking one of the lead sales positions in the organization. Our sales and revenue increased because of his ability to effectively communicate and forge instant relationships with a wide variety of business owners and managers in the greater Des Moines area. I also found him to have excellent leadership skills, as he often took the initiative to head-up special promotions and put other employees and interns in place to help successfully execute game-night operations for thirty home games each season. On a personal level, I can say to anyone that Brant is an honest, loyal and upstanding person of the highest character. Things such as dinner and a football game at his house after a difficult loss, or making a special trip to the airport to pick-up a newly arrived player at 10:30 pm when no one else could were typical of Brant. He did these sort things not because he thought it would gain him favor in the organization, but because he cared. He cared about the people he was working with that he saw on a daily basis. That is not normal in the day in age we live in, and that makes him exceptional. Brant Parriott will be an excellent teacher and he has my highest recommendation. Having a person of his character, leadership and personability connect with your students will be a huge benefit for them and your institution.
