Introduction One of the toughest decisions in life for a person is when he has to choose between his dreams or family.

Alex Montana who always dreamt of making it big in the business world was worried about his promotion from the post of director of the Industrial components and equipment (ICE) North America division of ESH manufacturing to global vice president. ESH Manufacturing, found in 1958 was a diversified manufacturing company that specialized in industrial components and equipment, process controls and power generation systems. Its operations spanned across Europe, North America and Asia. In addition to its above average industry returns, one of its competitive advantage is its people- driven culture and promotion from within. Alex Montana was a graduate from Ohio State University with B.S. in mechanical engineering. Soon after college, he started off to build his career as shown below:

Montana had trouble to balance his strained personal life where his four year old daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy and his wife Maria being pregnant with second child over the increasing workload. Moreover ESHs CEO, Bruce Martin and COO, Bill Langley who was also Montanas boss were fixated on Montana to be the new global VP. This would also mean to take on the challenge of not only leading 20,000 employees but also the politics that might occur due to his shooting promotions within the organization.
