Objective
The objective of this lab is to introduce the rocedure of moving a Part within a Product Document using the !om ass Mani ulation Tool.

"ctivating the Product (or)bench


Double*!lic) the branch of the + ecification Tree labeled Product1&'OOT. ,otice that the -con shown to the left of this branch has two gears. This icon alwa%s identifies a Product document. and can be used to activate the Motion Product Design (or)bench.

Once this icon has been selected the Motion Product Design (or)bench should a ear with the following -con:

Once the Motion Product Design (or)bench is activated. 'ight*!lic) on the !om ass at the to right*hand corner of the Model Dis la%.

/rom the dis la%ed menu. +elect Snap Automatically to Selected Object

"ssigning the !om ass to Part #:


(ithin the Model dis la% select on the to surface of the solid c%linder just e$truded in Lab +ession #. The com ass should turn green and move to the origin of Part #.

Moving the e$truded c%linder within the Product Document Product1&'OOT:


0sing the left mouse button. select and hold on the w12 a$is of the com ass. (hile holding the mouse button. drag the mouse cursor u ward in the Model Dis la% window. The solid c%linder of Part # should translate u ward relative to the origin of the 3lobal/i$edTo3round Part.

To refresh the com ass. hold the cursor over the !om ass Mani ulation 4andle 5red s6uare7. (hen the cursor image changes to show a 8*wa% arrow. !lic) and drag the com ass to an o en s ace within the Model Dis la%. The com ass should return to the to right*hand corner of the screen. 'ight*!lic) on the com ass and un*select the +na "uto function. This concludes Lab +ession 3.
