Connections (prior learning/prior knowledge): Students will access previous experiences and skills completing multiple choice tests. Time allotted MONDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their multiple choice testtaking skills. They will show their learning by completing five original multiple choice items based on High Tide in Tucson by Barbara Kingsolver. They will create these items using the AP question stem list. They will be due Wednesday. TUESDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their multiple choice testtaking skills.

They will show their learning through whole class discussion of items 11-15 on the AP practice exam completed last week. WEDNESDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their understanding of rhetorical devices, voice, figurative language, personification, and writing type. They will show their learning by identifying one example of each of the items listed above, and generating a written explanation of how the author used each to her advantage in High Tide in Tucson. These extended response answers will be due Friday. Assignment(s) DueFive original multiple choice items based on High Tide in Tucson.

THURSDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their multiple choice testtaking skills. They will show their learning through small group discussion of items 16-28 of the practice AP exam, and through written notes on this subject that will function as an exit ticket. FRIDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their speaking and listening skills. They will show their learning through Socratic dialogue.
