Being a leader

If we were to go by the dictionary definition, a leader would be a person who directs or controls a group or an organization. In my opinion, this phrase perfectly describes a boss and how he comports. There are a lot of differences between leader and boss and the most important one would be that leaders are people that are responsible for inspiring , guiting and leading a group of people on a path for a common cause , while a boss is just a person who controls other people, who is in charge of the work place. However, a leader and a boss can be the same thing, but this situation depends on the qualities that this person has. A leader is someone who is looked upon and is followed blindly. He is expected to listen to only the people qand nothing else. A leader is also believed to be the one that is seeking for the good for all his people and not only looking for his benefit. The leader is responsible for commanding a group of people, without being pushy and is always considered as a part of the group. He is believed to have features such as innovation, inspiration , guidance, strength and vision. He has to be smart, charming and original. On the other hand , a boss is a person who is in charge of the work place. He acquires authority and respect from fear and always wants to have the last say. Bosses are believed to be working for monetary purposes and do not always care for the well-being of the people. The boss always has someone to answer to , just like the employwws have him to answer to . Another key difference between a leader and a boss is that the first one always says "we" and "let's go , while the otherone says "I" and "go". A leader is considered to be more effective compared to a boss, as he leads by examples which are more productive than the orders gave by the boss. As you can see, there is a huge gap between beinga leader and being a boss , but I think that the most successful would be a mix of these two , because sometimes only authority does the trick. It is best to ensure that the bosses believe in their employees and lead them by inspiring them. A leader's authority and power are in the hands of the people.
