Ross Cardwell INT 411 12/5/13 Christianity On the earth there are all kinds of kinds as Miranda Lamberts

hit country song says. People are different in shape, personality, beliefs, and in every other way which makes each individual unique. In my opinion in the religion of Christianity in order to be a believer one must have a non western philosophy mindset. First we have to learn about the religion of Christianity coming from module nine of our curriculum. The important parts are that the first Christians were Jews, including Jesus himself. Next is that Jesus claimed to be god and he was the only way to salvation. Third is that Christianity is a monotheistic religion, but most accept a Trinitarian view towards God. Meaning God exist is three persons, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Humans are imperfect and are fallen which causes them to be in need of redemption. Christians believe that Jesus provided redemption through his death on the Roman cross. John 3:16 states that for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (Holy Bible). In module seven of our curriculum we discussed the non western self. The non western philosophy is less egocentric than the western self philosophy. As it was talked about in the readings, discussions, and audio people who are non western self believers rely on others to help guide us through life. I strongly believe this has a direct correlation to Christianity, because that

is one of the core beliefs that one must go through Jesus to get to heaven. I like the quote we do not do this on our own, I am because we are. In the church it is a community. People help others of the community get through tough times. They even go outside of the community to help others less fortunate through community service. A church is also like a family For me personally my mother raised me to be a Christian. I have and still want to honor her and the rest of my family by fulfilling the deed and making them proud. Another characteristic of the non western self that has played a role in my life is always being a part of a team. Playing in a team sport makes a person rely and trust in others. I think it has rubbed off in my personal life. People have helped me get to where I am today, so I want to help others reach their goals. My belief for Christianity is that one must have a non western philosophy to be redeemed by Jesus and accepted into heaven. With the help of others and a strong personal belief people can live eternally in the kingdom of heaven.
