HARVEST Loreto Paras Sulit

Loreto Paras-Sulit was a Filipino writer best known for her English-language short stories. She was born in Ermita, Manila on December 10, 1908. After completing her secondary education in Manila, she arrived the University of the Philippines, where she first got noticed for her short fiction. She graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in education, in 1930. Paras-Sulit joined the faculty of Florentino Torres High School as an English teacher and an active writing career at the same time. She was a also member of the Philippine Writers Association and the Literary Guild of the Philippines. In the 1940s, she joined the Philippine National Red Cross, where she served as secretary-general for several years. When she was working at the Red Cross, she shifted her focus to short stories for children, and published several works of that variety at the Philippine Junior Red Cross Magazine.
