TRAINING OBJECTIVES
PERFORMANCE SPORT CLUB YEAR AFL Brisbane Lions 2007 a) To make top 6 for season 2007 b) To win 80% of home games. ASSESSMENT To monitor progress in :a) Hypertrophy b) Max strength c) RFD & peak power d) Aerobic endurance e) Anaerobic endurance (RSA) f) Speed & agility. ENDURANCE Objectives : a) Maximise aerobic capacity. b) Improve anaerobic & muscular endurance to match the position-specific interval-type exertion required in AFL. STRENGTH Objectives: a) Individual hypertrophy goals for youth draft picks. b) Achieve PB for max strength tests in pre-season. SPEED Objectives: a) Set PB for 20m & 40m sprint times (anticipated correlation with RFD result). b) Set benchmark for reactive speed & agility (fusion sport gates). POWER Objectives: a) Set individual benchmarks for RFD & peak power. b) Establish PB for double & single-leg vertical jump (anticipated correlation with RFD).
