Practicum, Westside Elementary School, Pittsburg, KS, January 2013 April 2013 Utilized cooperative learning strategies to prepare English Language Learners for the mainstream classroom. Assisted cooperating teacher with the administration of spelling quizzes and reading tests. Tutored two individual English Language Learners in fifth grade math. Planned and instructed lessons on shapes, counting money, and numbers for kindergartners to help them successfully pass their exit exam. Field Experience, SEK Learning Center, Girard, KS, March 2012 May 2012 Assisted a fifteen-year-old girl with an emotional disorder. Tutored individual students in ninth grade English regarding parts of speech, dependent clauses, and independent clauses.
