"# PRIMARY DUTIES $he successful incumbent will be assisting the Supervisor to isolate pump sets and pipe lines by opening and closing manual valves% &eneral cleaning of 'ngine rooms( toilets( change rooms( eating facilities( pumps( motors and pipe wor)% *onitor and operate sump pumps to prevent flooding of 'ngine rooms% KEY PERFORMANCE ARES +ssisting in the isolation of pump sets and pipe lines by opening and closing of manual valves when isolating pump sets and pipe lines as per Supervisor instructions% +ssisting with scouring of pipelines by means of operating diesel driven pumps% &eneral assistance during 'ngine ,oom shut downs% *aintain the control room area by washing the area with soap and mop as well as using a vacuum cleaner% -eather dusting control panels and handrails% ,emoval of sediment from sump pits by using a shovel% *onitor and operating of sump pumps% .hec) levels of sump pits daily to prevent the flooding of the 'ngine ,oom% .leaning of pumps( motors and pipe wor) in the 'ngine ,oom% &eneral cleaning of 'ngine room floors( basements and stair cases% ,emoval of spider webs% .leaning of windows and removal of weeds around the 'ngine rooms ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS /0- level 12&rade 32+ '$ 4evel 5 or equivalent% asic understanding of the water treatment process% Safety training COMPETENCY PROFILE KNOWLEDGE Safety procedures asic water treatment process SKILLS &ood communication s)ills(verbal# &ood house)eeping BEHA IOUR $eam player( friendly Safety consciousness
