Aerospace Engineering
Aerospace engineering is divided into two groups: Aeronautical Engineering and Aerospace (Astronautical) Engineering. Aeronautical Engineering used to be a standalone field, but soon aircraft operating outside of the earths atmosphere began to appear.

Aerospace Engineering
Aerospace Engineers focus on aircrafts that are inside of the earths atmosphere. These aircrafts include commercial/cargo jets, turboprops, military jets, etc.

Aerospace Engineering
Aerospace engineers work on the aerodynamics of the plane, as well as the control surfaces (elevator, pitch, yaw, trim, flaps, etc.) Aerospace engineers do not work on the entire plane. Each factory is set to work on a specific part of the plane, which then get shipped to a manufacturer (Boeing, Airbus, etc.) to be put together.

Aerospace Engineering
Aeronautical (astronomical) engineers work on aircraft that are outside of the earths solar system. These include satellites, shuttles, etc.
