The research group of Martin Hellwig is seeking to fill a position of

Research Fellow in Applied (theoretical or empirical) Microeconomics


with a focus on institutions and governance, industrial organization, finance, or regulation
Research fellows are expected to pursue independent research, to present their work at conferences and to participate in the activities of the institute (seminars, workshops, etc.) The position is initially limited to three years. Applicants should have or be near completion of a Ph.D. in Economics or an equivalent qualification. The MPI is an interdisciplinary research institute with teams in Economics (Martin Hellwig) and in Behavioral Law and Economics. Economic research at the MPI involves topics in positive and normative public economics, political economy, regulation and competition policy for network industries, and the regulation of financial markets and financial institutions. The MPI is part of the research triangle in Bonn (together with the University of Bonn and the IZA Institute for the Study of Labor), and researchers are encouraged to participate in joint seminars. There is no teaching obligation, but researchers have the option to teach at the University of Bonn.
