Family Theme Newsletter Theme: STORE

Dear Families, We are starting a three-week unit during which well learn about a variety of STORES. Below are some ideas that you can try at home to further extend your childs learning. Go shopping together! Read labels at the store and talk about them. Is the print big or little? What colors are on the package? What do the words on the labels mean? While in a store have your child close her eyes and listen. What sounds are there? Music, people talking, cash registers? Go to a different section of the store. Are the sounds the same or different? Let your child help you make a shopping list. Allow him/her to copy words from labels and shopping ads.
