MLA - Formatting

MLA Format Set-up Tutorial Link **MLA Style guide (7th ed.) no longer recommends the use of a title page. Font: Times New Roman; 12 points Margins: 1 for the sides, top, and bottom of pages Spacing: Double-space your entire paper, including the heading, title, main body, quotations, and works cited. You should NOT have any additional spaces in between paragraphs. Page Numbering: Insert the page number in the top right-hand corner, using the insert page number tool. The page number should be about from the top of the page. Type your last name before the page number. Do not include the abbreviation p., a period, or any other symbols with the page number. Heading: 1 from the top, left-hand side, on separate lines type the following: your name, your teachers name, the class hour and/or name, and the date. (Double -space between lines.) Double-space between the heading and title. Title: Capitalize the first letter of all words longer than three letters in your title, including the first and last word (regardless of length). Do not format the title in any other way: no underlining, bolding, italicizing, or all capital letters. Double-space between the title and first paragraph. Main Body: Indent the first line of each paragraph five spaces from the left margin ( Tab key). The main body should consist of an introductory paragraph (ending in a thesis statement), a minimum of three body paragraphs that stress specific points, and a conclusion.
