PLC/SCADA SPECIALIST (HAYBAND O) Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure accurate and reliable plant status information to management for planning and decision making with regards to PLC and SCADA systems in Zwartkopjes Pumping Station. PRIMARY DUTIES Monitor and control budget within specified percentage savings Provide advisory support towards achievement of commercial equity Report on variances and provide actions to be taken SCADA fault repairs(software and hardware) Commissioning of SCADA & PLC installations on Site Communication Networks Maintenance Optical Fibre Network LAN & WAN Manpower effectiveness in the section Compliance to Planned Maintenance Achieve targets in workplace skills plan Provide support to ensure plant availability Project Management w.r.t. Periodic Maintenance JOB REQUIREMENTS Degree/Diploma (N6 or T3, S4) in Electrical (PLC and Automation) Engineering 5 years experience in the PLC and automation maintenance improvement environment Good experience with PLC, SCADA systems and networks Competent with Modicon PLC software, Modsoft, Concept, XBT, Panelmate (HMI) and Unity Knowledge on communication networks such as optical fibre systems, serial communications, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, Modbus and Modbus Plus High degree of computer literacy Code 08 drivers licence COMPETENCY PROFILE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS BEHAVIOUR Asset Management principles and life cycle costing In- depth knowledge of PLC networks and to intelligent devices Advanced electrical fault finding techniques PLC and Automation design principles Control system design Benchmarking techniques ISO 9001,14001 and OHSAS 18001 Good planning, Organising, verbal and literacy skills Negotiation, listening and problem solving Ability to work independently Ability to read and analyse complex electrical layout drawings and to develop scope of work specifications Attention to detail Quality Orientated Deadline driven Assertiveness Problem solving
