Contents
Cefuroxime (cap: axetil, vial: Na)
Indications Treatment of bone & joint infections, bronchitis (& other lower resp
tract infections), gonorrhea, meningitis, otitis media, peritonitis,
pharyngitis, sinusitis, skin infections, surgical infections & UTI.
Dosage Cap Adult & childn ≥10 yr 250-500 mg every 12 hr. Inj Adult 750
mg-1.5 g every 6-8 hr for 5-10 days. Childn >3 mth 50-100 mg/kg
body wt/day in equally divided doses every 6-8 hr.
Administration
Should be taken with food (Take immediately after food.).
Contraindications
Known allergy to cephalosporins.
