Sample lesson. Ok! Weve gone through the alphabet, now its time to explain a couple of special uses for the consonants G and Q. What words in Spanish do we know with those consonants? Whats the difference between the g we use in guerra and the g we use in gato? Lets see: GA TO GO TA GUS TO Listen to the different sounds we make! The vocal U in guerra and guinda remains silent to produce the same sound g would produce in gato or gota. Q is a completely different case: in Spanish it can never sound without the correspondent silent U, and it only Works with e and i. Therefore, this will always be wrong: qa, qe, qi, qo or even qu (when trying to make it sound like cu); qua and quo will also be wrong. The only right we can make with q is: que and qui.
