?ou CAn use an exLernal uS8 hard drlve and do all of Lhe above wlLh 1 hard drlve, however, Lhe drawbacks are
as follows:
! 1hese drlves are generally more expenslve
! 1hey are bulkler and more awkward, geLLlng ln your way, or belng knocked onLo Lhe floor
! 1hey requlre an addlLlonal cable Lo deal wlLh
! Some even requlre Lhe hassle of an addlLlonal power adapLer
! 1hese drlves are usually much larger, so for Lhls purpose lL's a loL of wasLed space
! More llkely Lo screw someLhlng up by uslng lL for oLher purposes
! Pard drlves have much hlgher fallure raLes Lhan uS8 flash drlves
So whlle Lhls can be done, l don'L Lhlnk lL's ldeal. lf you are ln a slLuaLlon where you [usL don'L have any uS8

Lhen for sure you can do lL Lhls way. ?ou can always upgrade laLer Lo flash drlves when you are able. lf you
already have a spare hard drlve lylng around, Lhen you can geL exLernal drlve enclosures from e8ay or
elsewhere for as low as $10 - $20.
Also, we wlll all probably soon flnd LhaL we would llke Lo have a couple of dlfferenL Mllus, perhaps wlLh
