The great thing about a computer notebook is that no matter how much you stuff into it, it doesn't get bigger or heavier Bill Gates. The computer is one of the technology tools which are available everywhere. While schools are handing out laptops, it seems that the quick change and the improvement occurring these years in technology may lead to the death of print. According to Jukes (2005) considered how people shift from Gutenberg to Gates to Google and beyond. First, he explained what the disintermediation is, and how it is used by people to have direct access to information on which subject they want. It does not stop at that point, but the change occurs which makes a crucial shift. He also suggested that it is a good concept to look back to what is happening. By understanding both of incremental change and exponential growth, we can deal with the changes. He confirmed that there are five major trends in exponential growth that lead things to happen. The movements demonstrated how the power and the speed doubling every eighteen, twelve, six months, three times a year, and two weeks by 2006 and per 72 hours by 2010. Jukes (2005) also considered how synercation has had an effect such as in businesses, insurance companies, and drug stores. That impact allows people to get the access to their information to do whatever they need. While that the majority of the webs are texts based, using keyboard and mouse is as an obstacle for some people because they are not familiar with them. The author also explained how the power has shifted from the publishers to the consumers. To illustrate, the consumers now do not have to wait for the publishers to get the information or details they need because the source information is available whenever, wherever they want.

BIN SULAYYIH For education, the synercative devices give the learners some advantages. For example, the evolving access to the information gives a complete freedom by allowing them to learning anytime and anywhere they want. Allowing the learners to learn whenever they feel comfortable is another benefit of the enhanced access. The power also has shifted in education from the teachers to the learners. As a result, that shift enables the student to have the opportunity to learn whenever and to choose how it is offered. The writer mentioned that the changes are continuum so that a lot of services come out. For example, the user enables to search the internet to download a particular song by using an iPod which is offering from the Apple Music Store. In 1998, Google was created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Year after year, some new essential features are added to Google to include such as Google Map, Google Satellite, Google Earth, Google Scholar Search, Google Language Tools, and Google Video. In 2006, Google Grid was a result by the combination of all Googles services. All types of media can be shared and stored by using Google Grid. While the changes occur, the author recommended that we should be prepared for the future. However, because of feeling as separate portions, it seems difficult in schools and department to deal with what is happening. He pointed out if we could believe that the powerful technology would replace a classroom teacher. If that happens, we should replace the teacher if he cannot do the learning better than a computer. Furthermore, something should not be ignored that the educational forms can be changed by the increasing in technologies. Moreover, the writer noticed that the students decision can be impacted by the availability of the information and services. Finally, Jukes (2005) asked us an important question if we would be able to go first and allow the changes. He also noted that the next impact will be on education (P.3-43).

According to Edutopia (2012) which explained how the online classes make advantages for the educators. To illustrate, the flexibility of an online learning enables students to learn anytime and anyplace they want even if they work. Some reasons encourage schools to this curriculum of learning including personalized learning, reducing money, and many different filed. As a result, the online learning is going to shape the future. Furthermore, some teachers who use to give online classes said that the students are making great progresses as they do it face to face and sometimes better. Some free resources and tips from teachers are offering on Edutopia.org to help other teachers to make the most effective online courses. Also, ten important tips were given by Mortimer; Jeff Farden, an online principal with the Idaho Digital Learning Academy (IDLA); Mike Caldwell, director of supervision and development with IDLA; and social studies specialist Jeff Simmons, also of IDLA. Kerry Rice, assistant professor and associate chair of the Department of Educational Technology at Boise State University (BSU), contributed as well. The guidelines include such as making the lessons interactive, giving the students the personal comfort to have the access when they need, having quick responses to questions, allowing informal communications, and using a lot of media tools (Ten Takeaway Tips for Online Learning section, Para. 1-15). Some similar points that both of the articles were considered are obvious. The first part is that the power has shifted from the teacher to the learner by technologies. Jukes (2005) wrote that in the past the learner has to wait for the instructor to lead him to the information and so that the entire power was only with the teacher. Yet, that is changed because the learner has the access directly to the information whenever and whatever he wants (P. 27, 28). Additionally, in the second article which was Online Learning in Idaho Boise, Idaho-based Holly Mortimer,
4

BIN SULAYYIH who taught in a brick-and-mortar school before becoming an online teacher and who now works for three different schools, says that the online teacher should focus on what are the children learning not what the teacher are going to teach which leads to shift the learning from teachers to learners (Ten Takeaway Tips for Online Learning section. Para.3). According to Jukes (2005) noted that some teachers may not be well prepared for teaching specific subjects so that may encourage students to go to the interactive online learning (P.25). It is similar to what is giving by a video clip Anytime, Anywhere: Online learning shapes the future. To illustrate, one of the factors that encourage students to take online classes is that some teachers are not willing or do not have the high quality to teach in classrooms while the online learning offers the high experiences. The third similarity as Jukes (2005) wrote that is when the technologies give the learner personal comfort. For example, while the classroom curriculum does not give each student the needs of learning, technologies can give the learner the opportunity to get whatever he needs such as having a long time to do the work that cannot be done in a classroom (P.26, 27). Differences are also seeing between these two articles. First of all, while increasing in the powerful technologies which have some advantages in education, Jukes (2005) emphasized that we should not ignore the importance of the teacher in a classroom. He says that But we also believe that any teacher who can be replaced by a computer can and should be replaced. If a computer can do it better, whats the point? But it wont replace the good ones (P. 41, 42). On the other hand, according to Edutopia (2012) the article of Online learning in Idaho is explained that the target of online learning is to transform schools by creating great online courses by being close to the teachers, students, and principals. Some teachers who use to teach online confirmed that the students understand and participate in an online course as they do in a classroom and sometimes better as well.

For an online learning, I believe that it is coming soon not only for students but also teachers. According to PRNewswire (2012), I read an article which was on a subject of online education. There are some recent reports which are explaining that the online classes are beneficial not only for students but also for teachers and administrators. In the United States, there is also a report indicates that over 6 million students are taking at least one class via the internet. Moreover, the report describes what the teachers and the administrators feel about online programs. To illustrate, they feel that the online programs are as effective as the classrooms. As a result, there are a number of online programs are available by some institutions that make who are working in the industry like this idea. Computers, smart phones, and other technologies which are evolving and available are making possibility for teachers and students to acquire much interactive like they do in the classrooms. The statistics also show that the online degree programs are becoming up in every area of study. By PETAP.org, it seems to be easier to find and read about the availability online programs then make the educated decision. In short, I think that the online programs are making an important shift in education so that a lot of institutions tend to engage teachers and students by offering online degree programs. Definitely, complete freedom is seen by online classes which make some people lives more convenient than if they take face to face classes. Since I am not in a classroom yet, I really like the concept of online learning. In addition, I have spent a lot of time using my computer and my iPod to learn what I really missed since I graduated from college in 2007. While the advantages of technology in some parts of our lives, it is impacting families. To illustrate, Barna Group (2011) finished a research which discussed the technologys influence
6

BIN SULAYYIH in families. It discussed that technology impacts all the familys members including parents and their teenagers. Parents are using their laptops and cell phones as the teens do. The parents are also spending more time watching television and emailing than their teen aged children do. Another point is that 32% to 18% of people think that the influence of technology is a positive on their families more than it is negative. Additionally, Most of parents feel that the technologys influence is not good or bad. Not having breaks from the technology is the third impact in families. For example, while eating, both of parents and teens use to email, text, or talk. Moreover, in bed, they checked emails. However, few of them try to take break times from technology. Arguments are being used by families about technology. One of these disagreements is that parents are worried about the time that their children have spent in media and technology. Others are ignoring the isolation which may caused by technology, and they get disappointed just because it is not easy to get the modern version. The last influence of technology in families is that parents and teens are not being trained by any public forum such as schools, churches, and religious setting to teach them how to use the entertainment and technology in a good way. In the future, it seems to be difficult to imagine what will happen to the technology and to us. So much are going on out there. For me, the internet by itself is just amazing. I do not have to wait for someone to get what I want on any specific area. Anyone would ask me for knowledge, I just say Google it. Couple weeks ago, I heard that we will not carry a backpack, it will carry us. Who knows? It may happen. In reality, a lot of technologies are beneficial especially in education such as iPad e-books from Apple and smart boards. I just ask myself, are there going to be classrooms teachers forever? Will children be able to use the time management to learn by technologies? I do not think so! I think we should teach any technologies users including students and teachers how to use them and how to make them benefits.
