Mrs. Stacey Paulsen Woodward-Granger Phone: 515.438.4263 Email- spaulsen@woodward-granger.k12.ia.us Class webpage: wg-artdept.weebly.com Course Description- Students will learn observation skills for drawing in line and value with an emphasis on composition. Students will also be taught how light and color a!ect both the artist and viewers perception of a subject. Several media will be explored, including pencil, charcoal, cont crayon, pastel, pen and ink and watercolor. Subjects range from still life to the human gure to landscape. This course will challenge the student at any level of artistic ability. Educational Philosophy- Creativity and e!ort are more important in my classroom than talent. It will be apparent if e!ort is not present in your work. I believe that naturally talented artists are very rare; instead, I believe art can be learned by anyone who has the desire. Assignments- Most projects are worth 100 points and have due dates. You are required to bring a pencil to class each day, along with creativity, style, and a good attitude.
