e hope this brochure is a helpful introduction to the Campbell High School Counseling Program and its relationship to your student and family. As we work with you and your student, please be assured that we are bound by the Code of Ethics of the American School Counselors Association. It is our philosophy that every student has equal acceess to both a standards-based comprehensive school counseling program and a qualified professional school counselor. The diversity and development needs of all students will be considered when planning and delivering the school counseling program.

What if a parent needs to schedule a conference?


Parents and teachers may communicate directly via phone, email or in person with regards to a students performance in an individual class without scheduling via the students counselor. If a parent is concerned about a students performance in all his/her classes, a conference can be scheduled via the students counselor.

Mrs. Loftin enters new student schedules and transcripts. She also handles the registration for standardized tests given during the school day and the distribution of the test scores.

How do school counselors help students?


Academic concerns such as course selection, learning study and time management skills, getting along with teachers, and being successful in school Social concerns such as handling conflicts at home or school, dealing with personal issues, learning to communicate with others, and making friends College and career planning such as making appropriate plans for education or a job after high school, determining what type of education or training is necessary for a chosen career, and identifying a goal for the future.

How do you make an appointment with your counselor?


Students can make an appointment by stopping by the Counseling Office in room 608. Fill out an appointment slip and leave it in the counselors box. The counselor will send for the student as soon as possible. (If it is an emergency, the student needs to tell Ms. Hancock).

Mrs. Ann Pritchard is our Career Center Counselor The CHS Career Center is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM 3:30 PM All CHS students can request an appointment in the Career Center to research colleges and careers, register to take the ACT or SAT, or to search for part-time jobs, leadership programs or summer programs.
