Where do you want to be? (Goal) I will have created open relationships with the students in my PS1 practicum.

How will you know when youre there? I will know I am there when I can recall a couple facts/interests about each student in my PS1 class. I will have created open relationships with the students. Im hoping they will see me as a caring and personable person and that they can come have personal chats and discussions about their life Where are you now? I will be able to work on this goal starting on my orientation day and the first day of my practicum.

Why? I believe it is so important for your students to know that youre not just there to teach them but to know them as people. I feel this will help them to know that they cared of as a person and that I am there for them and am interested in who they are and going to become. This is one if not the most important of my personal teaching beliefs.

Who or what can help? My T.A can help me by giving me background information. I will try as hard as I can to make personal connection with the students. Really taking time to listen and understand them. and the students will be able to help me reach this goal

Who or what are my challenges? The students may be my challenge. Some students might not be as open to sharing things about themselves to me right away. Time might also be a challenge being able to get to know every student in such a small amount of time.

Action: I will know each of the students names Date: Nov 13th Action: When i meet my students in PS1, I will try and make them know that i am there for them and that they can come and talk to me about anything. We will play a get to know eachother game. Date: November 6th

Action:Try to get to know two things about half the class. This will happen by playing some ice breakers with the students and just talking to them. i will begin to develop a genuine connection with them. Date: Nov 20th

**Goal: To gain a comfotable and open relationship Action:: Know two with my students things about half the Date: Dec 10th class. I will continue to do activities that will help me get to know the students. I can then incorporate these intersts into lesson plan and in our conversations Date: Nov 29th

I feel that I was able to reach my goal this practicum of really getting to know the students and create open relationships with them. I was quite proud of myself the very first day I knew over half the classs names! Throughout the practicum I really made an effort to get to know aspects of each and every students and talk about their interests with them. Both my University Consultant and T.A said that I had a very great relationship with the kids they really liked me and had respect for me and me them. The students knew I cared about them and was there for them, they would often come to me with many of their issues and I tired as best as I could to help them. I also found that developing a close and open relationship with my students helped me with my class management with them. Towards the end of my practicum many of the students tried to get me to stay an extra 100 days that made me laugh and smile that they really did enjoy me and my teaching and didnt want me to leave. I cant count the amount of hugs I got on my last day it was sad, I had become very attached to these students that it was hard to say good bye. Mr. Harris had the grade two create a scrapbook of me with the students it was very sweet and I will never forget this experience.

Where do you want to be? (Goal) My personal goal for my student teaching experience is to gain as much experience as I can about class management and being able to implement my own rules and routines. Why? All of the information I have learned in my classes have definitely been a great help but I feel that the more time I actually practice my class management skills, the more confident I will be when I get my own classroom. Class management I feel is a very important skill to be great at as a teacher.

How will you know when youre there? I will feel comfortable and confidant when managing my PS1 class. The techniques I use will be effective in managing the class. Where are you now? I feel I have learned some strategies to help me with class management but I feel that I will add so much more to my knowledge when I am experiencing and implementing it in the classroom.

Who or what can help? With an experienced teacher helping me through this experience guiding me on what works well and what doesnt, as well as practice and constant implementation will effectively prepare me for the classroom.

Who or what are my challenges? My challenges would be myself. I need to realize that I cant take professional failures personally. Recognize there is a learning curve, and that almost all great teachers had to learn how to do it right. Allow myself to make mistakes and learn from them.

Action: I have now been somewhat informed about my T.A. class mandagment rules and routines. When i being teaching i will impliment her rules when im teaching. Date:Nov 13th

Action: I will have had more interaction with teaching the class and hve bome confident and comfotable using the T.A class managment rules and rountines. Date: Nov 20th

Action: Students learn best from teachers who demonstrate they care. I need to be friendly but recognize I cannot be their friend. I'm determined to find the right balance between being liked and being respected. Onc i know i have gained thid trust from the students i will try to impliment some of my own class managment techniques Date: Nov 29th

Action: After using some of my own classmanagmet rules and routines i will know what best suits me as a teacher and Date: December 10th be able to develop a sound and working managment plan that i can use thtoughtout all my practicums. Date: Dec 6th

**Goal: Gain as much experience as I can about class management and being able to implement my own rules and routines.

I feel that I have gained a lot of knowledge about class management and techniques, however I feel it is going to take me quite a while and lots of practice to really achieve this goal. At the beginning of the practicum I found it a little difficult to kind of control the students and have them really pay attention to me, as I am a new person they dont really know. That is how my other goal really came in and helped in this area. As I began to form a respectful and open relationship with the students they began to trust me and get to know me as a person. And it helped me a lot to I was able to get to know them and what I should do in certain situations. My class management definitely got better as we got to know each other. I used all of Mrs. Harriss techniques for class management and they all worked great. I tried to implement my own techniques and routines however it was little difficult to do in someone elses class. I am quite proud to say that it has been the thing I have been working on the most. The very last day my University Consultant asked my T.A where she really saw great improvement and she said class management!

PSII Goals My first goal is of course class management, this is always going to be a goal of mine to work towards bettering. My second goal will be assessment to better know what types of assessment I should be using and when to use them.
