Abstract Music has been playing all around the world and has abilities that can affect people lives. In this Research paper that will inform how music affects the mind, emotion and mood of person. Music has so many abilities that can affect people in a positive and negative way. This will summarize on how music will affect adults and children. Melody has benefits that can help early childhood development in education, helping children to improve their Intelligence Quotient (IQ) to become higher. A conducted a survey on how music affects a person emotion by the type of music they are listening. Daniel Levitin (2010) explains that music offers an expansive high level overview that can be enthusiastic to listeners to become emotional meaning of music with its intellectual puzzles. Listening to music has a high potential that can affect a person life. This paper will examine how music affects people emotion, mood and their mind.

Music has a high potential of power that can help stimulate different parts of the mind. Various numbers of people listen to different type of music, but many dont realize how music affects them. Music can alter people emotion and mood just by listening to a song. An upbeats song can help enhance a person mood into happiness. The slow beat type of music lowers the

potential happiness, making a person emotional. A person that listens to upbeat type of music is often happy, active and energize to the music. Sports Psychologist Coastas Karageorghis of Brunel University of England says that music is a great way to regulate mood to during a physical activity (Amazing, 2008). Runners use up-beat type of music to enhance their performance while running. The loud upbeat type of music has stimulating effect; runners use upbeat music like performance enhancer drugs that would give them energy to complete their activity. The faster beat of music can cause person to be more alert and highly concentrated. Slow tempo music reduces the arousal mood of people. Making them feel less active in the activity. Listening to slow tempo music can cause a little emotional effect. Some music talks about how past relationship ended tragically. The positive effect of slow music is that music can soothe and relaxes the mood of people, decreasing the stress level of people. Literature Review There are so many ways on how music affects adults and children. Music affects early childhood development. In Effects of Music Training on Brain Cognitive Development (2012) summary, talks about how music affect children under the age of three to five year old. Studies show that musical training can help improve brain development of children. Music training can

help improve a child attention span longer. Classical music like Mozart can help improve a child brain. The Mozart effect in 1991 states that listening to classical music like Mozart can help improve a child IQ. Children would be more intelligent (Mozart, 2013) Students that listened to Mozart did a task when they have to create a shape in their mind. Many students that listened to Mozart are better in doing spatial task. Not only that student would be able to perform spatial task but also be able to recognize patterns easily. Music will sharpen childrens memory; it will improve their thinking skills as well. Children would able to respond mathematical problems easily. Music instruction can help build intellectual and emotional skills, facilitate childrens learning and strengthen other academic areas (Benefits 2010). Mythology on how music affects babies Music can be an essential element that helps benefit the health premature babies. Studies show that playing live music like guitars and lullaby songs can help preemies to adapt to the outside world from the womb. Premature babies are fragile and small; they often show the sign of stress (Therapy, 2013). In recent studies, the smooth sounds of music help benefit preemies by gaining weight. Music therapy provides relaxation to patients while they are recovering. The effect of music will help patients to become calm and relax. Therapist Elizabeth klinger recommends live music than recorded songs. Patients would feel the healing vibration of music for the patient to heal. The sound of smooth music provides a good environment for preemies to heal while they are in the hospital. The music benefits parents and the babies to have a stronger bond together.

The sound of music has a strong beat that will help stimulate the brain. Music can cause brainwaves to vibrate along with the rhythm of the music. The faster the beat of the music, the more alert and focus the person becomes. Fast beat of music helps workers to become more productive at work making them concentrate on the task they are doing. Slower music slows the productivity of a person changing their mood. The Louder the sound of music the higher brain frequency will arouse causing the change of brain activity. Devices called electroencephalograph (EEGs) measures the electrical impulse in the brain frequency (beats, 2006). This device collects data on how music affects the brain frequency. In further studies, music affects the life of teenagers. Teens are listens to music everyday to avoid boredom from school. Music has the ability to influence the minds of teenagers as they listen. Music has messages that talk about love and personal lives of the singer. As teenagers listen to music it encourages most teenagers to express themselves through appearance and behavior. Listening to music gives identification to teenagers giving them opinion on who they are. Teenagers that listen to rap songs are often to do drugs and sex, music like rap songs that talks about drugs has negative influence on teens. Music has positive and negative effects towards teens.

that will benefit the health and brain of people. Music has become an essential element that can heal and bring people closer together. The effect of music can cause emotion depending on the tempo of music. The faster the sound of music, the higher frequency of the brain wave will become, causing to alternate the mind of a person. Music has the ability to encourage the life of teenager to express themselves. Music has the ability to change the mind, mood and emotion of a person.

people through music. This case study involves vulnerable adults and children that are mentally ill, using the power of music to heal them. Each case study involves different kinds of sickness. Children with autism have been using Music therapy to help them overcome their fear of socializing with other children and help develop musical skills.
