FRUIT CAKE RECIPE

1 lb raisins 1 lb prunes 1 lb currants 1/4 lb mixed peel 1/4 lb almonds 1 1/2 cups cherry brandy 2 cups rum 2 margarine (1lb) 2 cups sugar 10 large eggs 2 tsp grated lime peel 2 tsp vanilla extract 4 cups flour 4 tsp baking powder 2 tsp brown cinnamon 1 cup browning (bakers brand)

1 cup mixture of cherry brandy & rum (to pour on cake upon coming out of the oven)
Note: Put tray of water to bottom of oven to prevent cake from drying out or cooking too fast. Bake on low heat for 1 hr and then increase temperature for remaining cooking time
