How does Healthy People collect their data? a. Healthy People 2020 identifies nearly 600 objectives with 1,200 measures to improve the health of all Americans. To determine the success of Healthy People, it is important to track and measure progress over time. Healthy People relies on data sources derived from: A national census of events (like the National Vital Statistics System) and Nationally representative sample surveys (like the National Health Interview Survey)

How are the objectives measured? a. You can search the Health Indicators Warehouse for data related to Healthy People 2020 objectives. Go to http://healthindicators.gov/ In the search box, type in the objective number you want to find (e.g., HDS-16). To find objective numbers, select the topic area you are interested in from this list, and view the objectives tab. Press the enter key.Select the objective or topic from the search results

Within each topic area, you will find 3 tabs. The Overview tab provides a brief introduction to the topic and its importance to the Nations health. Although some students, especially the older students, may not be able to use modern day technology such as the internet, the website makes it a simple as possible because it tries to reach out to every audience. 15. What is your overall opinion about this website? a. I think the website comes in handy, especially because I have started to watch my weight, watch what I eat, and watch my body carefully, and the topic I chose, which is nutrition and weight status, it helps me get an idea of how surely our country is circling the drain in terms of the obesity epidemic. It is truly important to understand that this current downward trend must change.
