School Counselor___Jazzmin Sims_______________________________ Year2013-2014 School Counseling Program Mission Statement The mission of the school counseling program at Southwest High School is to provide students with a self-directed and independent learning environment in which they can development knowledge and interpersonal skills to help them understand and respect self and others. Despite cultural differences we will ensure continuing academic growth. In collaboration with administrators, parents, community, CTE Coordinator, teachers, the school counselors will ensure all students have numerous opportunities to make a positive contribution as leader in the school and community. School Counseling Program Goals The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance, behavior and/or school safety goals this year. Details of activities promoting these goals are found in the curriculum, small-group and closing-the-gap action plans. Program Goal Statements 1 Continued increase in ACT composites for all sub groups with extra emphasis on minority groups 2 3
to help lower the achievement gap. Heighten interpersonal skills through character development and service learning to create learning opportunities for all students. To encourage all students to become actively involved through collaboration with the school, parents, and community.

Provides clerical support to a counseling office by performing a variety of clerical services. __________________________________________________________ Attendance Assistant Clerk provides accurate accounting of student enrollment and attendance communicates with staff, students and parents concerning student attendance. ____________
