1.
Student learning has improved because everything they do in class is geared toward an Alberta Program of Studies outcome I need to teach and assess. Focusing my assessment practices has helped develop applicable and engaging learning activities that assist students. reating focused learning opportunities ma!es assessment easier because I !now e"actly what the students need to show me through an activity that will demonstrate their understanding. #herefore$ student learning has improved because they have the opportunity to learn a concept in multiple ways so that when I implement my summative assessment they are able to e"perience success.
%.
&y professional practice has improved the most in the area of assessment because I have learned how to focus learning activities on the outcomes that I will be assessing. In 'ctober I attended a P( session that communicated practical advice for !eeping trac! of assessment. #he wor!shop leader e"plained how one inter he had had wrote the outcomes they where assessing on their mar!ing sheets below the mar!. I too! this idea and applied it to some of my mar!ing sheets and really appreciated how easy it was to see how well a student met the outcome. Also to help me during report card period I !ept detailed notes on my students ability so that I could have concrete e"amples of each students learning. 'ver my practicum I have conducted both formative and summative assessment to determine my students learning. )ach time I implemented a form of assessment I made sure I !new what I was assessing and how the students would demonstrate that they met the outcome. Although I have enhanced my assessment practices$ this is an area where I can still improve.

reating clear classroom e"pectation and routines is vital for student learning. Having clear e"pectations and routines allows a classroom to run smoothly with very few interruptions and ma!es learning easier. Student learning has improved because there are very few interruptions and a *uite environment was created+ allowing students to focus on their wor!. Students are also able to focus on learning because they !now where supplies are !ept and can gather it *uic!ly and efficiently for the sub, ects they are studying at the time. Also assigning ,obs assisted in creating consistent routines that allowed students to move from one tas! to the ne"t efficiently.
&y professional practice has definitely improved although there is still room for improvement. I really appreciated the opportunity to observe my mentor teacher at the beginning of year as this helped me when I began teaching the class. -y following my mentor teacher.s lead I was able to reinforce the classroom e"pectations and routines that allowed the class to run smoothly. For the most part I was successful$ but I have come to the reali/ation that a teacher is always reinforcing the e"pectations. #he !ey is finding ways to reinforce these e"pectations through my body language which is less disruptive than using my voice.

'ver the course of my practicum I struggled to differentiate effectively$ but within the last few wee!s have seen improvement in my ability to differentiation. I feel that my professional practice has improved because I was able to gain my students trust and !new the students who needed more support or the ones who needed more challenging material. &y challenge was finding ways to meet these diverse needs. #hrough conversations with my mentor teacher I have found ways to differentiation the material and content for students which allow them to e"perience success. In small ways I am differentiating by providing e"tra support for students or ma!ing sure I get to the students who I !now will need one0on0one instruction first. I plan to continue e"panding my !nowledge of differentiation.
