Assessing Motivation Modifications Essays are great ways to assess how well a student understood and consumed the information. To assess their social development, systematically observe the students to see who talks, how others support each others statements, and how they support their perspective. You can vary this method by having them in groups or as a whole.

The discussion method is good for students, for it allows them to hear the opinions of their peers, and allows them to think more critically about the topic. This strategy allows students to interact with one-another and see things from their peers points-ofviews.

1. Identify the topics: What is the focus of the discussion? 2. Specify learning adjectives: Get students to have a deeper understanding of the content, have them think critically, and help their social development. 3. Develop student knowledge: Make sure they have the knowledge needed prior to the discussion. 4. Establish Structure: How you want the discussion to happen.

With the discussion strategy, there are 3 phases: Phase 1: Introduction: The topic is told by the teacher and discussion starts. Phase 2: Exploration: The students talk about the topic, clarify their thinking, and ultimately take a position. Phase 3: Closure: The teacher states the main points and they are summarized.

So what? What is important to understand about this?

Discussion strategies are a great way for students to discuss and critically analyze a topic, build social skills, and theoretically full classroom participation.
