1. What was the area of focus today during the lesson? What activities related to the area of focus did the teacher include in the lesson today? The area of focus today was reading, writing, and comprehension. The students had to read an article then answer questions about what they had learned, using evidence from the article.

2. What went well with the instruction? What did students learn? Both the students that I was working with finished the activity before I left, which was a great accomplishment. The students learnt how to look back at the story to find the correct answer for the questions.

3. Explain a growth moment for yourself where you realized, learned, or confirmed something from today dealing with student achievement in the area of reading. (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, before/during/after reading A growth moment for me was that every child is different. I had a little guy who couldnt read a few words without having issues. I think he needs a little extra help with everything starting with phonemic awareness. And the other little boy in my group could read fluently but had trouble comprehending what he had read. So as a future teacher, I need to be prepared to work with students that are not at the level they need to be at.

4. Describe a moment when a student grasped an idea/concept-that got it! kind of moment. How was the teacher able to facilitate this experience? Explain the situation. After reading the article together, we started working on the questions but one of the little boys told me he already had the answers. So I told him to just follow along and at each question I would ask him the question with his answer and then have him show me where he found his answer. Then the little boy realized that he couldnt just choose the answer that he

thought was right, he had to prove that the answer he chose was the correct one by providing evidence.
