The five child development learning outcomes: 1.

) Theoretical and Research Knowledge: The student will have knowledge of child growth and development with emphasis on age 0-8 ears! and will identif appropriate e"pectation of children#s age$stage %ehavior. I have met this outcome through research, trial and error lesson plans, textbook information, and course work that have given me knowledge on appropriate expectations of children's age/stage behavior. &.) 'evelopmentall (ppropriate )urriculum: The student will plan and implement a curriculum that is developmentall appropriate for children#s ph sical! emotional! mental! social! language! and creative needs. *n particular! the student will create a learning environment which contains developmentall appropriate materials and activities! emphasi+ing concrete! e"periential! active learning! and give children choices for pla $work. I have met this outcome through the many lesson plans I have designed and implemented for young children. Through coursework, I have designed my own classroom, looked through childcare magazines for developmentally appropriate materials and e uipment to make a learning environment, and I have taught children in the classroom !" lesson plans that I designed myself which offered appropriate materials and activities, active learning and given children choices for play/work. ,.) -ethodolog : The student will %e a%le to implement and assess teaching and learning strategies through reflective teaching! will meet the needs of oung children through individuali+ed programs or professional referrals! and will communicate the a%ilities of each child in singular! small group and large group activities for the child#s parent or guardian. I have observed in many classrooms and different programs throughout my college experience. I have shadowed teachers and eventually taught my own lessons in the classroom. In my co#op I interacted with staff, students, and teachers. I sent out letters to parents about me, and to inform them on information about what the classroom is learning and how the year is going. I taught $ small group and $ large group lesson plans to the children throughout this semester. ..) /uidance: The student will o%serve and record a child#s %ehavior to provide appropriate activities and guidance methods that positivel encourage the child#s self control and self discipline individuall or in groups! and will demonstrate trusts in and respect for oung children through words and actions.

I have met this outcome through textbooks and course work throughout the year. The textbook %The &ower of 'uidance% by (an 'artrell has helped me learn more about positively encouraging children's self control and self discipline. I also seen this at my co#op placement on a daily basis by other teachers in the classroom. 0.) 1ield 2"perience: The student will e"hi%it professional demeanor and show commitment to the guidelines for responsi%le %ehavior in childhood education according to the )ode of 2thical )onduct as endorsed % the 3ational (ssociation for the 2ducation of 4oung )hildren. I have met this outcome by being placed at a site for this semester and gaining !$) hours of field experience. I was able to work in a professional setting and act with responsible behavior according to the *ode of +thical *onduct.
